falling action in federigo's falcon
Federigo's Falcon is a tale from Giovanni Boccaccio's "The Decameron" that explores themes of love, sacrifice, and social class. The story centers on Federigo, a nobleman who is deeply in love with a woman named Monna Giovanna. When Monna's son becomes ill and longs for Federigo's prized falcon, Federigo sacrifices the bird to please her son. Tragically, the son dies, and when Monna learns of the sacrifice, she is moved by Federigo's devotion, leading to an unexpected turn in their relationship.
After her husband's death, Monna and her son moved to live with her parents. This decision was made to seek support and stability during a challenging time, allowing them to regroup and find a new direction in life. The move provided them with a sense of security and the comfort of family.
Squandering his wealth in an attempt to gain the affection of a beautiful woman, Federigo degli Alberighi is left with only a small farm and a magnificent falcon. Federigo loves Monna Giovanna, a young woman of nobility who is already married and has a son. After her wealthy husband dies, Monna and her son travel to their country estate near the farm where Federigo lives. The boy becomes friends with him and covets the prized falcon. Soon the boy is sick. He has one request: "Mother, if you can arrange for me to have Federigo's falcon, I think I would get well quickly." (p. 427) Monna is well aware of Federigo's love for her, but she also realizes how attached the man is to the falcon. Monna makes an unannounced visit to Federigo's farm. Before she declares the purpose of her call, he decides to honor Monna with a meal. Unfortunately, Federigo has nothing to serve her. He catches a glimpse of his falcon on its perch. He breaks its neck and has it roasted on a spit. Monna eats the bird unaware that it is the animal she has come to request for her son. After dining, she asks Federigo for his falcon. All he can do is weep. He then reveals that he sacrificed the creature to provide a meal worthy of Monna. A few days later, her son dies. After a period of sorrow and resentment, she marries Federigo.
because he wanted to honor monna but he was not wishing to ask any one for help not even his own workmen so he found the falcon sitting in a small room and he noticed that it was plump so he decided to make that for dinner for monna
Both Federigo and Monna make decisions driven by love and sacrifice. Federigo chooses to kill his beloved falcon to prepare a meal for Monna, showing his willingness to give up something he cherishes for her. Monna decides to ask Federigo for the falcon as a last resort to fulfill her son's dying wish, demonstrating her selflessness and desperation for the greater good of her child.
A man named Federigo fell in love with a woman named Monna Giovanni, and she does not want to be with him, as she is already married anyway. Federigo spent all his money trying to impress her and ends up broke, moving away. Monna's husband dies, so she and her son, after mourning, coincidentially move to the same area as Federigo. At this time, all Federigo really has is his falcon. Monna's son spent time with him and loved and envied his falcon. When he became sick and was close to death, he requested to have the falcon, as he felt that it would help him recover. She goes to his home and requests to have a meal with him. He felt that she deserved a proper meal, but all he had was his falcon. Seeing it proper to feed it to such a lady, he killed it and fed it to her. After she finds out, she goes back home and her son soon dies. Later, Monna's brothers request that she remarry, and she decides to marry Federigo, because she found him to be noble.
its not a who, federigos falcon is a book/story, there is a character named federigo and he has a falcon when he used to be what we would now say modern day military. He fell in love with this girl Monna and tried to show his love to her by buying her things to impress her when her husband died. however she never noticed him because so many other men were doing that too. He wasted all his money on her and became very poor. Then one day Monnas son became very ill and she asked him if there was one thing that would make him better and he said the joy of seeing federigos falcon, i must have it. So Monna went to the barn were Federigo was working and had dinner with him. He had nothing to serve so he killed his falcon because it was the only thing worthy enough to give Monna. When Monna found out she was very upset yet happy that he would do that for her. Once Monnas son died, her brothers told her she should remarry. Monna remairred...She married Federigo.
Following Federigo's mistake of spending all his wealth to impress Monna Giovanna, sad events unfold when Monna Giovanna comes to ask for something to eat for her son, and Federigo can only offer his prized falcon as a meal. Devastated by his dire circumstances, Federigo gifts the falcon, only for Monna Giovanna to reveal that she came to seek his hand in marriage.
