This doesn't mean that you need to remove your tonsils, you just have to get quick medication from your doctor, if its very bad then you will need to get your tonsils removed, and it sometimes depends on your age but if your old enough theres no need to remove them.
laryngeal tonsilsok, i think you mean 'pharyngeal tonsils'. we actually only have one of those at the very back of the throat which isn't generally reffered to as being a tonsil. we actually have 4 types of tonsil, but we call the two 'masses' at the sides of the back of the throat 'the tonsils' more often. these tonsils are called the palatine tonsils, or faucial tonsils.hope it helped x
Palatine tonsils and adenoids are NOT synonymous. Palatine tonsils, sometimes called faucial tonsils, are found at the back of the throat. Adenoids are the pharyngeal tonsils, located in the back of the nasal cavity.

The main function of tonsils is to trap germs (bacteria and viruses) which you may breathe in. Proteins called antibodies produced by the immune cells in the tonsils help to kill germs and help to prevent throat and lung infections.
