Eccrine Glands
sweat glands
Hair follicles help with sweating. There is a sebaceous gland on each hair follecule which releases oils onto the hair, which allows the oils to go up to the skins surface. When this oil evaporates it cools the skin because of its latent heat.
Ten pounds of smaller potatoes will yield more potato skins than ten pounds of larger ones. The reason is that as volume (and therefore the mass or "weight" of the product, because they're proportional) increases, surface area increases but "lags behind" the increase in volume. A steel shot put has a higher surface area to mass ratio than a steel wrecking ball has.
To sweat (perspire) is a natural function of the human body. Sweat glands in the body react to changes in body temperature. Sweat is the body's cooling system. The gland excrete a salty solution which when this is on the skins surface evaporates and thus lowers the body's temperature.
