The goal of a psychologist should be to cure the psychological problems of the patient by finding the root cause of the mental problem by psychoanalysis of the thought process of the patient, his various types of feelings such as fear, anger, anxiety etc etc and try to remove and or explain away his/her unreasonable and baseless fears, anxiety and other related problems by offering rational answers or solutions to such problems. While doing so he should adopt a wholistic approach involving almost all the members of the concerned patient and any information tor secret hat comes to the knowledge of such a psychologist should be treated by him absolutely secret unless it is required to be exposed for the mental health of the concerned patient or the information/knoledge is regarding any commission of a serious crime.
