Little or none. In some cases, the body will create a 'new' gall bladder in the duct work. It is recommended that individuals reduce their fat intake, but even if they don't, there are normally no drawbacks.
My wife had her's removed and there have been no affects.
AnswersI've had my gall bladder out and my doctor told me to stay away from fats, but forgot to tell me good fats (such as Olive Oil) should be introduced into your daily diet. I had a rough time because my gall bladder burst thanks to the incompetence of 5 doctors and 2 ER visits. I didn't have the basic symptoms of pain from under the right side of the breast to under the right shoulder blade and only had excrutiating pain under my shoulder blade. When I looked it up on the web there are 5% of people with this symptom so all those doctors messed up for the 11 weeks of hell I went through.
Normally having the gall bladder removed causes few problems, but I would advice you to be wary of spicy foods and hard to digest foods. Since there is no longer a gall bladder the acid duct no longer just squirts out the acid as one needs it to digest food, but it pours directly into the stomach. I'm fine now and there are only a very few things I can't eat.

the gallbladder doesn't make bile, the liver does. the gallbladder just helps to add it to your digestive tract in the correct amounts. its possible that you are getting too much bile at one time if you dont have a gallbladder.

After the gallbladder is removed, the space left behind is filled with surrounding tissues and organs. The body adjusts to the absence of the gallbladder by redistributing bile production and storage functions to the liver and small intestine. Most people can live a normal, healthy life without their gallbladder.
It is removed and disposed of by the hospital along with other potentially biohazardous waste.

There could be something wrong, and it might need to be removed.
There is no artificial gallbladder that can act as a replacement for the human gallbladder.
As the bile crystals aggregate to form stones, they move about, eventually occluding the outlet and preventing the gallbladder from emptying. This blockage results in irritation, inflammation, and sometimes infection (cholecystitis) of the gallbladder.
