I like to think that your Ampharos has a crush on Amphy, because of the way it acts eratically around Amphy. But that's just me, im a romance freak. xD

Personally, I just used my Ampharos and they were really easy. Of course, if you picked Totodile as starter, it won't be too difficult either, but use Ampharos and have it know Thunder as it killed most of the opponent's Pokémon. For killing Jolteon, I just used a Sandshrew I caught from the Safari Zone.
