if bile duct is completely blocked then the bile juice and bile salt will not be secreted and the digestion of fats will not be done.

the food coming from the stomach is acidic and has to be made alkaline for the pancreatic enzymes to act. bile juice from liver accomplishes this in addition to acting on fats. fats are present in the intestine in the form of large globule which makes it difficult for enzymes to act on them. bile salts break them down into smaller globules increasing the efficiency of enzyme action. alll this cannot take place if the bile duct is blocked.

Duct transporting bile from gallbladder to common bile duct?

The duct that transports bile from the gallbladder to the common bile duct is called the cystic duct. It is a small tube that connects the gallbladder to the common bile duct, allowing bile produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder to flow into the small intestine for digestion.

What duct is formed by the merger of the cystic duct and the common hepatic duct?

The merger of the cystic duct and the common hepatic duct forms the common bile duct. This duct carries bile from the liver and gallbladder to the small intestine for digestion.

Where does the cystic duct take bile for storage?

Bile flows into the cystic duct and then is stored in the gallbladder where it is concentrated.

What is the duct that leaves the gallbladder?

The duct that leaves the gallbladder is called the cystic duct. It joins with the common hepatic duct to form the common bile duct, which carries bile from the gallbladder to the small intestine to aid in digestion.

What happened to the duct from the gallbladder on a pig?

In pigs, the duct from the gallbladder is called the cystic duct, which merges with the common hepatic duct to form the common bile duct. This common bile duct then carries bile from the liver and gallbladder to the duodenum for digestion.

What makes bile which helps in digestion?

Bile Duct is the beginning area in our small intesting.

What structure empties bile into the duodenum?

The common bile duct is the structure that empties bile into the duodenum. It combines bile from the liver and gallbladder and carries it to the duodenum to aid in digestion.

Is the bile duct involved directly or indirectly in mechanical or chemical digestion?

Indirectly in chemical digestion by the release of stored bile into the small intestine. The bile then emulsfies fats.

What is attached to the hepatic duct?

Hepatic duct is attached with liver. The union of hepatic duct and cystic duct forms common bile duct.

What causes bile duct obstruction?
