What is the passage of water through call membranes?

simple answer osmosis defined as the diffusion of water from a area of high concentration to a area of low concentration.

What is passage of a solvent through semi permeable membrane called?

The passage of a solvent through a semi-permeable membrane is called osmosis. Osmosis occurs when there is a difference in solute concentration between the two sides of the membrane, causing the solvent to move from an area of lower solute concentration to an area of higher solute concentration in order to equalize the concentrations.

What happens when concentration gradient 0?

When the concentration gradient is 0, no flow is allowed to go through the cell wall. To get motion through a membrane, the concentration gradient must be higher than 0.

The passage of water through the cell membrane is called?

The passage of water through the cell membrane is called osmosis. Osmosis involves the movement of water molecules from an area of lower solute concentration to an area of higher solute concentration across a selectively permeable membrane, such as the cell membrane.

How is the color of cytoplasm in osmosis distributed?

Osmosis is the passage of water from the region of high water concentration through a semi permeable membrane to a region of low water concentration. So the water will move from area of higher colored concentration to a lower colored concentration.

What is the direction of net osmosis?

Osmosis is the passage of water from the region of high water concentration through a semi permeable membrane to a region of low water concentration. The direction of movement is from area of higher water concentration to area of lower water concentration.

When was Passage Through Time created?

Passage Through Time was created in 1995.

Define the term osmosis?

Osmosis is the movement of water molecules across a semi-permeable membrane from an area of higher water concentration to an area of lower water concentration, in order to equalize the concentration of solute on both sides of the membrane.

How does water typically move in osmosis?

In Osmosis, water moves from the region of high water concentration through a semi permeable membrane to a region of low water concentration. Osmosis happens because of diffence in concentration of water different regions.

Do osmosis has a high or low concentration?

As per Definition of osmosis: "Osmosis is the passage of water from the region of high water concentration through a semi permeable membrane to a region of low water concentration". Thus, Osmosis do have an area of high and low concentration of water solutions.
