Well it depends what type of tooth is lost. If a baby tooth is lost than over time a new adult tooth will grow in. If an adult tooth is lost than no other tooth will grow in it will from then on an empty space.

this happened to me a few minutes ago...i lost my tooth about 3 hours ago and then while i was in my room i heard a small snap and looked over and my tooth had broken in two, this happens with all of my teeth but i have never witnessed it happen before its really weird.
