Ahini originates from the designation given the Swine -flu which is A-H1N1. In predominantly Muslim countries where there is a sensitivity towards the usage of the word "swine", the media took to using the scientific designation in their reports of the disease. The public, finding it difficult to say the word A-H1N1, devised an easy pronounciation, i.e. Ahini.
