Albinism is a skin disease which is caused due to complete loss of melanin (skin pigmentation which gives colour to skin- located in skin layer) from skin and even iris of the eye.

It can be hereditary. The skin becomes pale and even pinkish because of the blood beneath the skin. The iris can also lose color.

An albino is a person or animal who has pale or colorless skin, eyes, and hair because the body does not produce enough pigment, or melanin.

There are various degrees of albinism, leading to different shades of skin and hair pigmentation. Some albinism may affect only the eyes, while some may affect only the skin. It is a fallacy that all abinos have red eyes. Many have blue eyes, while others can still have brown eyes, but be true albinos.

The affects of being albino can affect their eyes hair and skin. They can sometimes turn out to be blind because of the estagness in their eyes. Others can see fine but have difficulties seeing. Mostly in distance.

The goverment helps pay for glasses and gives money to support them because of their disabilitt in money or help with glasses. I am a Albino and I can see i am not blind but the state defines me or any other albino that isnt blind but still cant see very well as Legally Blind. Some albinos cant drive or wear contacts. They have very light skin. Most are pale. Having I would define it as olive skin tone. Their hair is blonde or white all diffrent shades. As for eyes some albinos eye color change or it is plain blue or red or pink or purple. Mine are blue grey yellow and green, I know it sounds funny but I get complimented for them. There are white an black albinos. I mean Calcasian albinos have white hair very light skin and sometimes pink or purple or blue eyes. Black albinos are a little bit darker not by much. Their hair tends to be platinuim blonde. There are Octave albinos these albinos eyes and hair are affected not their skin. So they look normal but people wonder did they dye their hair and why does their eyes move well now you know.

What are the genotypes of the parents with albinism?

Individuals with albinism typically have a genotype that is homozygous recessive for the albinism trait, often denoted as "aa." For a child to have albinism, both parents must carry at least one recessive allele. Therefore, the parents can have genotypes of either "Aa" (heterozygous carriers) or "aa" (homozygous for albinism). If both parents are "Aa," there is a 25% chance their child will inherit albinism.

Can people with albinism reproduce?

Yes, people with albinism can reproduce. Albinism does not affect an individual's reproductive capabilities, so individuals with albinism can have children. However, there may be genetic considerations, as albinism is often inherited in an autosomal recessive manner, meaning that both parents need to carry the gene for a child to be born with the condition.
