Necrosis is tissue death, and infarct means a blockage of blood flow to tissues, so it sounds like someone is describing tissue death that appears to be due to blockage of blood flow.
An embolus is a blood clot or other substance that travels through the bloodstream and blocks a blood vessel. When a vessel is blocked by an embolus, it can lead to reduced blood flow to tissues and organs supplied by that vessel, potentially causing damage or even tissue death if not promptly addressed.
