My 76 year old husband was hospitalized with severe right side pain. CT scan showed that he had an extended gallbadder. He also has a blood clot in his right lung. No stones identified. Can you tell me more about this extended gallbladder. Thanks, Patsy Darter
according to Google: vesícula biliar
Gallbladder surgery.
Yes we can. Removal of the gallbladder does not mean the patient cannot continue to have a normal life. However - a change in diet to a low-fat alternative would be advisable - as the bile produced by the gallbladder is used to process fat in our diet.
Cholecystecomy is just a fancy medical word meaning "surgical removal of the gallbladder." A patient with a history of a cholecystecomy no longer has a gallbladder.
It may mean you have something wrong with you gallbladder I would call your Dr.!
it's the removal of a gallstone using an incision inside the gallbladder
"Grossly unremarkable gallbladder" means that upon visual inspection during a medical procedure such as an ultrasound or surgery, the gallbladder appears normal with no obvious signs of disease or abnormalities.
There is no artificial gallbladder that can act as a replacement for the human gallbladder.
were is your gallbladder in your body
Everyone has a gallbladder unless it has been surgically removed, but if you mean can it detect a gallbladder problem, no it can't. A pregnancy test detects a hormone only produced during pregnancy by an embedded embryo so nothing else can mimic it.
