Jeanne Silberman (nee Baer). He did so, thus taking his first steps on the road to Hollywood...a road that Jeanne, sadly, never got to see him reach the end of.
Remaining in fragile health after her initial heart attack, she died of Breast cancer and her heart condition (despite this information coming from her son's own mouth, several sources erroneously list Mrs. Silberman's cancer type as ovarian) in 1957, when her son was only 24.
