The best treatment for jock area itch is a starch based powder. Body powders and baby powders usually act to cool the skin and the powder acts to prevent chafing and further irritation. Reduce the itch by reducing the irritation. (The top two irritants of crotch skin are sweat and friction)

Be certain you can handle the cooling affects of the body powders on your crotch. Some have menthol as their active ingredient.

If you have a fungal infection use clotrimazole, miconazole, or terbinafine cream. All are listed as strong anti-fungals. Some are found in the women's yeast infections section. Others are listed as treatment for athlete's foot/foot fungus. They will work just as well on fungus on your crotch.
