A lipodermoid tumor, also known as a dermoid cyst, is a benign growth that typically contains mature skin components such as hair follicles, sebaceous glands, and sometimes even teeth. These tumors are most commonly found in areas like the ovaries, but can also occur in other locations, including the skin and around the eyes. While generally asymptomatic, they can cause discomfort or cosmetic concerns depending on their size and location. Surgical removal is often the preferred treatment if intervention is necessary.
