Rabbits use their ears to cool themselves off, and it is normal for a rabbit's ears to be warm to the touch. If your rabbit's ears are hot, and the rabbit is breathing heavily, they may have a fever and need to be taken to the vet immediately. This may also occur if they have been running around alot. Often in addition to hot ears and heavy breathing, the whites of the rabbit's eyes may show. If these symptoms persist for more than an hour, please take your rabbit to an exotic animal vet as soon as you can.
Rabbit fever is a very deadly disease. I say this from experience. The first few day, the symptoms are intensive nose twitching and an urge to eat carrots and lettuce. The following week, however, is really bad. You start to grow the bunny tail and ears. Meat is no longer appetizing to you. You notice that you have started shrinking, growing smaller with more gray fuzz on your skin. Finally, usually 2 weeks after infection, you are no more than a bunny rabbit in a lonely world. The best cure for this is to travel to India. Find the nearest unicorn and sing it a lullaby. The tears of pure unicorn joy should be able to cure your deadly rabbit fever.
you grow ears... your arms tend to drop off and your left nostril closes up
A little boy loves his bunny and takes him everywhere. The other toys in the nursery tell the velveteen rabbit that if you are loved enough you can become real. The little boy gets scarlet fever and has to have all his toys burned. Before he can be burned the velveteen rabbit becomes real and scampers away.
