What is the causes and effects of suicide?

um... cause: prolly deep pain in someones life, like they just can't stand to live anywhere. effect: putting your pain in others' lives. a kid i know died with suicide and the pastor who did his funeral said "he solved his temporary problem with a permanent solution" suicide is not a good thing even though it seems like the only way out of something, trust me from first hand, it's not. talk to someone, someone you trust or find a suicide hotline, seriously. it is not a messing around subject.

The main reason for suicide is the lack of a reason to live for.

It all goes back to your believes and what's your world view. Your believes are the foundation on which you act upon. For example there are mentally sick people that think they are cattle and they actually go and eat grass and sleep like cattle (the sickness it's called boanthropy). The point is that if you believe something, you will act on that believe.

Some things to consider

1. God says that you are created by Him and that He loves you no mater what you do and He's always ready to receive you and forgive you. He loved you so much He gave even His only Son to die instead of you on the cross. He want's you to live and to bless you with eternal life.

That gives you value, meaning in life and a reason to live for. Suddenly you are loved, accepted, appreciated. You are a child of God and you will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven with Him.

If you chose to believe God, then you have eternal value and have many reasons to live for:

* Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom. (Luke 12:32) * To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. (Revelation 3:21) * And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

2. If you chose to believe evolution, then there is no reason to live.

Evolution says that you are only chemicals that got together by chance. That means you have no value. You are worth nothing more than the chemicals that form you. Evolution says that there is no afterlife, no God made justice for all the injustice that many people got on Earth. Evolution says that we are just a "better" primate or money like creature and all will end at the funeral.

It's all in what you chose to believe. Even God says that there is no reason and logic in living without Him:

* For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. (Ecclesiastes 3:19-20) That's only the case if you take God out of the "equation". Otherwise there is plenty of reasons to live for !

So what are we teaching our teens ?

That they are an animal and that killing others got us here ? (that's the way evolution works: the stronger kills the weakest or takes his food which is the same)

Or we teach that every single human has eternal value and is loved by the greatest person of all time: God !

Effects of suicide:

God wants you to live. If you commit suicide, you act against God's will, so this is a sin. Since God's forgiveness is only on Earth, how can He forgive you after you committed suicide ? The ONLY effect for that person is eternal hell.

Other effects are for the ones that knew the one that committed suicide.

* The family or friends will experience great grief and possibly depression. They might be inclined to do the same and commit suicide also (there is a case of someone that wanted to meat his friends in the afterlife so he killed himself) * The ones that read or hear this kind of news on TV, radio, internet, newspapers or other media can be influenced to have an inclination towards depression or even suicide as well. The effects have a great impact on society. The suicide is a testimony of someone that says : I don't want to live anymore. Many view the life like this for the reasons stated above. So unless someone gives them love, acceptance and a reason to live expect more and more suicides (or killings of others).
