Depression usually deals with someone with little or no self esteem. Depressed people have nothing to counter balance their negative feelings so they feel low all the time. If you feel upset ALL THE TIME and you have low self esteem you probably are depressed. So, you might say there is no difference. If you feel this way I suggest you find something to counter your upsetting feelings.
