That is not correct.

Antithrombotic is any medication that decreases clots in the body (by dissolving already formed clots or preventing clot formation). This includes the drug classes anticoagulants, antiplatelets, and thrombolytics.

Anticoagulant- primarily prevents formation of a clot, not dissolve a clot already formed, but help to prevent further propagation of a clot

Antiplatelet- prevent platelet aggregation

Thrombolytic- decrease clot size and help dissolve clots already formed

thrombolytics break down clots, fibrinolytics specifically break down the fibrin in the clot. anticoagulants are not 'clotbusters', they stop the clot from forming in the first place.
