There are many reasons why your dog could have stomach swelling. Your dog could have a twisted stomach for example.
My dog had the same problem not to long ago. My dog likes to go around the house and eat stuff like plastic and candy wrapper. But when we took him to the vet he said that he had a turned stomach(or a stomach ache.) So the vet told us to give him some kind of shot to help the dog and he was better in a couple of weeks. Ask your vet if there is a shot that can help your dog. I'll do some more research later but that is all i know for now. Hope I was helpful!

If your dog is gone and the cat is fat then yes. My suggestion is to put a muzzle on the cat if you don't stab it to get the dog out first. But if you do, don't stab the stomach! :) (WOW that cat's big or the dog is mouse size!)
