They are produced in the anterior pituitary and act mostly notably on the uterus
Anterior Pituitary Gland
ovaries
The pituatry gland.
FSH (Follicle stimulating hormone) and LH (Lutenizing hormone) are produced by the pituitary gland in the brain. Specifically, the anterior region of the pituitary gland.
Pituitary Gland
the pituitary gland
The releasing hormone
FSH, secreted by the Pituitary gland, stimulates the secretion of Oestrogen from the ovaries, Oestrogen in turn stimulates the secretion of LH by the pituitary and inhibits the secretion of FSH, LH then stimulates ovulation (the release of an egg). Without FSH this chain reaction does not happen.
FSH and LH are released by the hypothalamus in response to gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) stimulation. GnRH is released in pulses into the bloodstream, which then triggers the release of FSH and LH from the pituitary gland. These hormones play a key role in regulating the reproductive system and stimulating the production of sex hormones in both males and females.
Birth control pills work by suppressing the release of FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone) and LH (luteinizing hormone) from the pituitary gland. This prevents ovulation and helps to prevent pregnancy.
it tells the ovaries to make oestrogen which then helps mature and egg. the oestrogen then tell the pituitary gland to stop making FSH and make LH. LH then makes the ovaries release eggs =] hope this helped! [=
The rapid rise in the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH) is primarily triggered by a surge in gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. This surge occurs during the menstrual cycle, particularly just before ovulation, leading to increased secretion of FSH and LH from the anterior pituitary gland. This spike in FSH and LH is crucial for the maturation of ovarian follicles and the triggering of ovulation.
