Normal is said to be 120 over 80. The higher reading being the systolic and the lower the diastolic. The systolic does raise as we get older and the old adage used to be 100 plus your age so you should have something like 150 or 160 over 80. The diastolic should not be above 80 and if it is then your doctor may give you advice on how to lower it. If it is 90 or above then you are suffering from hypertention, high blood pressure, and your doctor will usually treat this condition with medication. If you are unable to reduce your high blood pressure then you will need to have medication for life. Hope this helps.
