In humans, sweating is primarily a means of thermoregulation, although it has been proposed that components of male sweat can act as pheromonal cues . Evaporation of sweat from the skin surface has a cooling effect due to the latent heat of evaporation of water. Hence, in hot weather, or when the individual's muscles heat up due to exertion, more sweat is produced. Sweating is increased by nervousness and nausea and decreased by cold. [1]

The process of sweating. Example: why do we have perspiration mechanism?
Sweating is the mechanism of thermoregulation in the body. It helps to cool the body down by releasing heat through the evaporation of sweat from the skin.
Perspiration is salty because it contains electrolytes such as sodium and chloride that are present in the body fluids. These electrolytes are released through sweat glands to help regulate the body's temperature and maintain the balance of fluids in the body.
Insensible perspiration is a perspiration that evaporates before it is perceived as moisture on the skin.
Perspiration is considered a cooling process because when sweat evaporates from the skin, it absorbs heat from the body, which in turn cools the skin and helps regulate body temperature. This mechanism helps the body maintain a stable internal temperature when it is exposed to warm environments or during physical exertion.
In the normal course of perspiration we do lose some salt. However, some of the salt is reabsorbed from the duct of the sweat glands. This re-absorption does ensure that we don't lose too much salt. In Cystic Fibrosis this re-absorption mechanism is impaired - perspiration is excessively salty, - salt accumulates on the skin. Actually, sweat test, - for the determination of salt concentration in perspiration -, is one of the tests used for diagnosing Cystic Fibrosis.
Sweating is "perspiration" (when you sweat, you perspire).
The lungs give off perspiration.
The perspiration was making dark patches on his shirt.
I could tell that you were nervous by the perspiration on your brow.
Hypohidrosis is the diminished flow of perspiration. Anhidrosis is the absence of perspiration.
perspiration on the forehead is secretion of sweat from sweat glands. Example: perspiration on the forehead is there for a simple purpose, cooling down the head.
