Atherosclerosis
CAD, which stands for coronary artery disease, is an abnormal condition of the coronary arteries.
The function of the coronary arteries and veins is to supply the heart with vital oxygen for it to function. It may also carry trace minerals that help it conduct and contract.
Atherosclerosis is the condition in which fatty deposits collect on the walls of the arteries. These deposits may increase the risk of heart attack or stroke.
The coronary arteries are responsible for carrying oxygen-rich blood to the heart. However, most oxygen-rich blood is being carried away from the heart, meaning that most arteries are not carrying blood into the heart at all. Veins are responsible for carrying de-oxygenated blood towards the heart so that their oxygen supply can be replenished in the lungs. The two veins which actually enter the heart are the superior vena cava or the precava which carries blood from the upper half of the body into the heart and the inferior vena cava(IVC), also known as the posterior vena cava, which carries blood from the lower half of the body into the heart.

what is nri deposits
Atheroma refers to the accumulation of fatty deposits within the arterial wall, while plaque refers to the buildup of these deposits along with other substances like cholesterol, calcium, and cellular waste on the inner lining of arteries. Plaque formation can lead to atheroma progression and possible complications such as narrowing of the arteries, reduced blood flow, and increased risk of cardiovascular diseases.
