This is in a fairly loose interpretation of the meaning of "shribble", but something that would make bones shrivel up, like in a skeleton would be an acid. Acid would remove the inorganic components of bone, the calcium crystals and leave behind the cartilage and collagen components, making it soft and squishy and flexible. Something that would make the bones of a live person "shrivel up" would be osteoporosis or osteopenia. There are types of cells in bone that act to either make new bone matrix, repair it, or, in a sense, to dissolve it. Osteoclasts are the ones that dissolve bone, and osteoblasts are the ones that make lay down new bone matrix. When people get old, their osteoblasts tend to slow down, and their osteoclasts just keep on a chugging along dissolving bone.

Another thing that could lead to weak bones is called Rickets. This is a condition in which someone doesn't get enough Vitamin D either from the sun or their diet. For a person who has Rickets, they become bowlegged because just the pressure of their bodyweight forces their femurs to bend.

That's about all I can come up with for shriveling bones.
