Pain in the lower left side of the abdomen is called left lower quadrant pain. It is often related to the digestive tract, but can also be related to conditions of the body wall, skin, blood vessels, urinary tract, or reproductive organs.
Lower right quadrant pain is associated with appendicitis. There are instances of appendicitis presenting with chest pain, however these are congenital anomalies and require thoracic surgery to remove the appendix. If there is acute lower right pain, this should be investigated by a physician especially if there is a possibility that you are pregnant. The descending and sigmoid colon sections are on the lower left as well.
