Decending Colon
it is the ascending colon the middle is transferse colon and the left is descending
The splenic flexure, also known as the left colic flexure, is the point where the transverse colon bends downward to become the descending colon. It is located on the left side of the abdomen, near the spleen. This junction is significant as it marks the transition from the upper part of the colon to the lower part, playing a role in the overall function of the digestive system.
The digestive system takes food and breaks it down, and the excretory takes whatever is left over.
Colon cancer starts from polyps attached to the lining of the colon wall. If left alone, these polyps can turn cancerous. Colon cancer has capability to spread throughout the body. The highway systems they use to spread their destructive cells is the bloodstream and lymphatic system. Provided that this disease spreads to different parts of the form, its belongings could be destroying
It is part of your large intestine. (Maya, Ally, & Jeffry) The human intestine consists of two segments: the small intestine and the large intestine. The large intestine is subdivided into cecum and colon and the colon consists of four sections that are ascending colon, on the right side of the human body; transverse colon, from right to left; descending colon, on the left side and sigmoid colon, on the lower left side. The rectum is the portion of the colon sigmoid that end up on the anus.
Ileocolic anastomosis is a type of procedure used to connect two structures in the digestive tract, more specifically the colon and ileum. It is commonly done on patients that have Crohn's Disease and colorectal cancer.
Subdivisions of large intestineCaecum (5-8 cm lying between the small intestine and ascending portion of colon)Appendix (blind ending finger like projection at the end of caecum)Ascending portion of colon (which goes up the right side of body to the level of liver)Transverse portion of colon (lying horizontally below the liver and stomach)Descending portion of colon (passes down to the left side of body)Sigmoid part of colon (slightly bent and enters the rectum)Rectum (21-23 cm long opens into anal canal)Anal canal (2.5 cm long)
Spleen is along the left upper side of your stomach. Pancreas is also in that general area.
The digestive system takes in the food and the excretory system removes the waste left over from the excess food. The digestive system takes in the food and the excretory system removes the waste left over from the excess food.
The sigmoid colon is in the lower left quadrant.
The colon is subdivided into three regions: ascending colon, transverse colon, and descending colon. The ascending colon runs vertically on the right side of the abdomen, the transverse colon crosses horizontally from right to left, and the descending colon descends vertically on the left side of the abdomen.
i think the colon?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Organs on the left side of the body include (as the previous poster answered) the colon, the stomach, the spleen and left kidney. Also parts of the small intestines will be in the left part.As to the question of which organs are on the lower leftside of the body specifically, the descending colon and sigmoid colon (both are parts of the colon) would be the correct answer.
