Any Chlorine bleach, properly applied makes an excellent "big job" disinfectant. As you're interested in applying Chlorine to the area, and you don't get about fabric softeners and such, the purer, less fancy, and therefore cheaper the bleach is, the better it'll work as a large area disinfectant. Note that in any facilities, there are procedures defined that explain in detail how to disinfect with potentially dangerous chemicals, such as chlorine. Failure to follow those procedures to the letter can result in injury or death -- really. So be careful. * Make sure the room is very well ventillated when disinfecting with Chlorine Bleach, or wear breathing gear. * Eye protection and protected clothing are a must. * DONT mix the bleach with anything not listed in the procedures in order to improve "performance". Some things are deadly to mx with chlorine. * If burned, flush the area with clean, non-chlorinated water for 20 minutes or more. Burn treatment will be included in the procedures. * Be aware of evacuation procedures, again detailed in your manual. I know this sounds like a lot of warnings for something you might buy in a grocery store. Please be aware though that hospitals don't always buy the over-the-counter low concentration chlorine bleach and that chlorine works so well as a disinfectant because -- really -- it's a toxin. Also, accidentally mixing chlorine with a wide range of readily available chemicals can have very fast, very lethal results.
