Elephantitis in short gets its name from the appearance of a person's affected limb (usually a leg). It becomes grey and thick and sort of resemble's an elephant's leg.

There is no real cure though massages and moisterizer can help sooth the skin. The bacterium causing elephantitis is often carried by mosquitoes or in some cases the consumption of human flesh (normally rotted or under cooked).
