I have had one attack of the Ragers and it was most unpleasant , it started with a mild fever not to bad then the shivers started and they continued for quite a long time until I was shaking so badly that I was actually bouncing off of the sofa I was sitting on.
I called my son to take me to Hospital as I had no idea what was going on he could hardly understand me as my teeth were chattering so badly.
Thankfully that is the only time I have had the experience, I has something to do with when you Core Temprature drops to a certain level your brain tells your body to start to shiver to create heat within your body, at least that is what the hospital doctor told me.
Flu
In someone with SARS, symptoms typically start with a high fever and can be followed by headache and chills
If this is in infants or young children, contact their pediatricians immediately.Usually the first step is to lower the fever, usually with fever-reducing medication or cold compresses. If the tremors are caused by shivers and chills (also called rigors) associated with an infection and fever, that is the way to relieve them, but you may also need antibiotics prescribed if you have a high fever and chills, so you should contact your health care professional. If the tremors are more like a seizure than chills, especially in children with a fever, it could be what is called a febrile seizure and that should be checked immediately by a physician.

Shaking chills followed by a high fever often indicate the body's response to an infection or illness, such as bacterial or viral infections. The chills occur as the body tries to raise its temperature to fight off pathogens, while the fever itself is a result of the immune system's inflammatory response. Conditions like influenza, pneumonia, or sepsis can trigger this response. It's important to seek medical attention if these symptoms are severe or persistent.

Additionally, the body's immune response can lead to sensations of coldness or shivering, even if the person is not experiencing a high fever.
