Visible recovery is the signs that a person is overcoming an issue, be it addiction, grief and loss, mental illness, or many other things that humans need to "recover", or "stabilize" to where their life was before the event or cause of their distress occurred.

When speaking about addiction, the visible signs of recovery can be a decreased use or total abstinence from the drug or behavior they were addicted to.

They might display a better attitude, and be more positive about the future.

Recovery from mental illness might mean being on a stable regimen of medication that the person is taking without issue-or a return to their "baseline" before the illness became unmanageable.

Recovery from grief and loss would perhaps be freedom from isolation- being more willing to share their feelings and loss, and become willing to talk with a therapist or person who has been through the same pain. Activities that the person used to enjoy before the loss might be back in their life.

Visible recovery is

(almost)always a positive experience for both the person recovering, and those who love them.
