To get any sort of spin on the disc you are going to have to snap your wrist, all of this power is provided by the forearm. It is possible to throw a disc with just this movement, but if you really want power and distance in your throws then you will need a strong core. All of the muscles in your arms are used as well, but these are more for stabilization and form, they don't deliver that much power to the disc. So, forearms provide spin, the core provides the power.
There are many muscles used when playing Frisbee. It all depends on what is happening. For example, if there is a lot of running involved, then your leg muscles, both the calf and thigh muscles, along with heart and lung muscles. When throwing the Frisbee, you will use most arm muscles, because of the motions you make with your elbow. Then you would use your abdomen muscles when twisting your body around to throw the disk. It is a good work out if there is much distance between the players, to increase the running and throwing done in the game. Hope this helps and have fun!
Wrist muscles are the main, if not only, muscles used to catch a disc. Some forearm muscle may be used.
When throwing a frisbee, the primary muscles used in your arms include the deltoids and pectorals for shoulder movement and stabilization. The triceps are engaged to extend the elbow during the throw, while the biceps assist in the initial motion and control. Additionally, the forearm muscles, including the flexors and extensors, play a crucial role in grip and wrist movement for spin and accuracy. Overall, a coordinated effort from these muscle groups helps generate power and precision in the throw.
The beginning throw to start the game or the throw after a team scores is call the "pull."
