By labeling it Breast cancer you are noting where it began and what is being attacked: the breast.

Cancer (of any kind) can spread to additional organs or locations in the body; once it does this is called metastases.

Once it begins to spread, it can attack any and all systems of the body; eventually leading to death.

Though it can attack anywhere, most types of cancer have a semi-predictable spread pattern. This is due to a combination of it's location (access to blood and lymph nodes, etc) and it's cell structure (since the cancer retains aspects of the original cell type it grew from: in this case, breast/fat cells)

Breast cancers typical attack pattern spreads from the breast to:
1. Lymph Nodes (under the arm or along the center of the rib cage, or near the collar bone)
2. Muscle, fat tissue and skin (usually in or around the original tumor location)
3. Bones (typically the ribs, spine, pelvis or long bones of the legs/arms)
4. Bone Marrow
5. Liver (which is at risk with most cancers due to its blood filtering function)
6. Lungs
7. Brain

However, as with any cancer, it can technically spread to any system. These are just the ones with the highest initial risk of spreading.

Breast Cancer SpreadingNo, mestastasize means that the breast cancer itself has spread to other organs, causing them to be harmed also. When breast, or any other cancer, has mestastasized, the cancer cells in the other organs are the same as the ones in the original organ. Thus, if the cancer originates in the breast and spreads to the liver and bones, you don't have breast, liver and bone cancer, you have mestastasized breast cancer.
