Between 12-16 days after your period

There is no DURING ovulation, it is a specific moment. The two or three days around ovulation is good time to try.

The best way to work it out is to buy an ovulation test kit. You can buy them from supermarkets or the pharmacy. You pee on the sticks and it tells you when you are most fertile. It is then that it is a good time to try to get pregnant

Can a girl get periods while she is pregnant?

No, it's biologically impossible to menstruate while pregnant. Menstruation is part of the menstrual cycle, a regular pattern of ovulation and the body preparing for pregnancy, or when there is no pregnancy the uterus lining shedding and the whole process starting again. Thus when pregnant the menstrual cycle is no longer carrying on, no ovulation and no menstruation.

Which part of the menstrual cycle does the contraceptive pill affect?

The contraceptive pill effects the entire menstrual cycle. The pill suppresses the menstrual cycle in order to prevent ovulation so that you cannot fall pregnant if you were to have sex.

Why do you notice much mucus a day after ovulation?

It is part of the cycle. Your body is ready to get pregnant and it produces the mucus to make it easy for sperm to reach the ovum.

Have you got to be on your period to get pregnant?

No you do not have to be on your period to get pregnant. The reason you may have heard it called a monthly cycle is because every women has certain phases that her body goes through in approximately a month and one of them is a monthly period. Another part of the cycle is ovulation (the time during which a women can get pregnant.) Ovulation is when the ovaries release an egg and it happens at different times for different women. There are ways to track ovulation but I never read any of it too in depth (I was already Pregnant). The link I included has a lot of info but explains the menstrual cycle pretty well. http://www.womenshealthlondon.org.uk/leaflets/cycle/cycle.html The part you should pay attention to though is ovulation. If you need more info on how to tell when you are fertile (not just a guess based on the average women) the next link I provided goes in depth on different signs of ovulation and other parts of the menstrual cycle, it even includes a calendar for you to track on. http://www.womentowomen.com/sexualityandfertility/predictingovulation.aspx Hope this is helpful.

How are ovulation fertilization and menstruation related?

Menstruation is the shedding of tissue and blood from the lining of the womb that occurs at the beginning of menstrual cycle. Menstrual cycle is the series of changes a woman's body goes through to prepare for a pregnancy. Ovulation is a part of menstrual cycle when a mature egg is released from the ovary, pushed down the fallopian tube and is available to be fertilized. If you have intercourse during ovulation you can get pregnant. So, fertilization means that sperm has gotten to and entered the mature egg.

How does the ovarian cycle regulate the uterine cycle?

The ovarian cycle and the uterine cycle are part of the same cycle, the reproductive cycle. Ovulation occurs and if the egg isn't fertilised the uterine lining sheds as menstruation.

Are you pregnant if you have cramps and egg white discharge?

(original answer) The egg white discharge has nothing to do with ovulation it is just a normal discharge. You can be pregnant if you had sex 1-9 days after your period ended that was unprotected With respect to the previous person who answered this, what they said is simply not true. Your CM plays a big part in your ovulation and knowing when you are and are not ovulating and even if you could be pregnant. 30 seconds of research on "cervical mucus during menstrual cycle" will show that.

What are the three phases of a menstrual cycle?

There are really two phases, because ovulation is so brief. There is the preovulatory phase, which is the first day of your menstruation (menses) until your ovulation. Now this is the most variable part of your cycle, it could even occur during the latter part of your menstruation (yes you can get pregnant during your period if ovulation coincides with your menstruation). Which means that one's cycle can be longer or shorter depending on environmental and hormonal factors which influence when ovulation occurs. The second phase, postovulatory phase, is more rigid and for each woman is about 12 - 16 days long. So the rhythm pattern: predicting ovulation based on when your period starts and then guessing when ovulation will occur is most definitely not a good method; all because the first phase of your cycle can be so variable, even though the second is not. For most people a cycle of 23 to 35 days is normal. A cycle that is longer than 35 is considered anovulatory, meaning ovulation did not occur at all.

How does stress make you miss a period?

Menstruation is part of a whole menstrual cycle, in order to menstruate you first have to ovulate - however if you are at all unwell your body will try to delay or skip ovulation in order to prevent you becoming pregnant when unable to cope. Thus if you are suffering from stress ovulation may be delayed or skipped, thus in turn your period would be delayed or you'll skip your period all together that cycle.

If your luteinizing hormone is positive does that mean you are pregnant?

No Luteinizing hormone is secreted as part of the monthly menstrual cycle. It triggers ovulation and allows retention of the corpus luteum. The hormone secreted during pregnancy is called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG).
