The hamster should be taken to the vet for a trimming. If the teeth stay this way, the hamster will eat a lot less because it would be too painful to eat.
There isn't really any other way you can get the teeth smaller, but once they are small you can provide a variety of chewing toy. Also, its food could have some hard bits that might take some time to chew. You can also feed the hamster hard vegetables/fruits such as carrots.
yes they can and it shaves there little teeth if its too long ( i give my hamsters peanuts and the shells)
They bite their cage because they are wearing their teeth down so their teeth don't get too long. Hope this helps
Rabbits, hares, mice, hamsters, and other animals with growing front teeth nibble down on rocks and their food to keep their teeth from growing out too long.
All hamsters have teeth that never stop growing, no matter what breed. Syrian (aka short-haired/ teddy bear) hamsters will use their teeth the least if you know what I mean. They hardly ever bite their owners, or others. Remember to buy chew toys and "teethers" so your hamsters teeth don't get too long! Thanks and happy hamster owning(;
You should go to a dentist and tell him or her that you need your front teeth filled.
Hamsters teeth can grow. So if it grows too big, they will have difficulty eating and if they can't eat they will die from starvation. So if you see your hamster biting the bars of its cage, give it something else to wear its teeth down.
It probably is not bad for you but if you brush your teeth too hard AND too long then that's too bad for you.
This is hard for people to answer...I would ask a vet. No, they usually dont, their teeth grow continusly so they have to wear them down, but not too much!
I'd highly doubt it. I got a baby hamster a while back, and stupidly started sticking my finger in the cage to see if she'd smell it. When she did, she bit it and my finger bled pretty bad.Baby hamsters' teeth can't be too long, so I wouldn't worry about it going off the fact you're bleeding.I would check with a vet if you are concerned tho, it can be uncomfortable for them if the teeth are a bit too long.
Syrian hamsters (teddy bear hamsters) can eat strawberries as long as it is not too much. Dwarf hamsters can eat strawberries but should not because they are prone to diabetes so a strawberry could really affect their diet.
Yes and a long term memory too.
Because their teeth never stop growing. You should make sure your gerbil has something like a wood block or a hard treat to chew on to keep them from getting too long.
