Dear Editor:

In our area(Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Karachi) the sweepers are very careless. They don?t sweep the roads, streets and lanes regularly. Heaps of refuse and garbage can be seen everywhere. Flies settle on them and they have become the perfect breeding places for mosquitoes.

Gutters are overflowing and the dirty water gives off very nasty smell. Pools of dirty water are causing a lot of trouble to the residents. If immediate steps are not taken for the cleanliness of this area, dangerous diseases such as cholera, malaria and typhoid may break out.

I hope through the column of your esteemed paper the concern authorities take prompt action and help in making the surroundings healthy.
