The normal temperature ranges from 36.5 to 37.5 C. Above that range is considered a fever.Fever can be low or high. Above 40 is considered to be alarming and higher than that may lead to a febrile seizure. Give acetaminophen to reduce fever, drink lots of fluid, wear light clothes, dont cover and tepid sponge bath may also help to lower temperature.

A normal temperature for a new born is about 37°C, till 37.5°C. However the temperature may vary for several months as

temperature regulation is in the process of stabilization. My son has had 37.6 - for about first 4-5 months, then 37.2°C till 9-10 months.

98.6 in the normal temperature of the body. I would say any temperature over 100/101 might be cause for concern.
