What type of food does the stomach digest?

I don't think that the stomach digests the food. It churns it so that it is easier to digest. The small and large intestines are the ones that digest the food sent to them by the stomach. Some people don't have stomachs. You don't really need one to live.

Stomach acid is something your body needs to complete the basic function of eating. Without it our bodies couldn't function properly. The bad news is that sometimes this acid can and does cause you pain but it's a necessary evil of the human body.
