What types of cancer require a bag outside one's body besides colon cancer?

Any cancer of the intestine may require an ostomy bag (the bag to which you are referring). This includes colon or small intestine. In these cases, the bag refers to which part of the intestine is emptying into the bag (i.e. ileostomy, colostomy, etc)

In addition, certain cancers of the bladder may require a diversion of the urinary system to an external bag. In this case, the surgeon will make a pouch from a portion of your intestine and attach your ureters to it, making a false bladder. This pouch is usually made from a portion of your ileum, and is called an ileal conduit with a urostomy bag.
