A fasting blood sugar reading (one taken when you haven't had anything but water for the previous eight hours) of 147 isn't good. If this level is confirmed on repeat testing with a lab (not a home testing machine), you may have Diabetes. If you got this reading within a couple of hours of eating (a postprandial test), it could be normal. Postprandial testing can't be used to diagnose diabetes. See your health care provider for proper evaluation and treatment.
