normal platelet level is 150,000-450,000, so generally when you get below 100,000 you are considered to be thrombocytopenic, below 20,000 severely and dangerously thrombocytopenic--which means you are at risk for spontaneously bleeding.

Is a 67 platelet count bad?

It's abnormal (low).

Is an 87 platelet count bad?

The "normal" range starts at 125,000...so yes, 87 is extremely bad.

Is 90 platelets count normal?

It is on the lower side of the norm. Normal Platelet counts range from 150,000 to 400,000. However, in my own experience my platelets usually range from 114,000 to 124,000 and have so for over 10 years now. No biggie unless you are having other issues or possible surgery in which they will always do a CBC which includes a platelet count before surgery. Otherwise 124,000 is not bad. But keep an eye out on your next platelet count. Good Luck!

Is 139 platelet count bad?

No. 443 platelet count is medical-speak for 443,000 platelets in a cubic millimeter of blood-- and normal is generally considered between 150,000 and 400,000/mm3. Having a slightly elevated platelet count is not a big deal.

Is 482 platelet count bad hemoglobin 9 and hematocrit 31?

First, it depends on whether you're a man or woman (assuming you're not a child-children have a naturally lower count) and the reason for the low counts. Don't know about the platelet count, but a hemoglobin count of 9 and hematocrit of 31 would indicate moderate anemia in a woman and more severe anemia in a man. I know breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy are generally given a blood infusion at a HGB count of 8 or lower. Anemia can have many causes, from the scary stuff to simple nutritional deficiency or over-hydration. Since you must have gotten these results from a doctor, why not ask him or her yourself and get a better answer based on your particular situation?

Why is subtracting a negative number a positive number?

It is a double negative, subtracting is essentially adding a negative, therefore subtracting would be a negative negative number, which would be a positive, my mom helped me remember it by thinking if a bad thing happened to a bad person, it would be good, if a good thing happened to a good person it would be good, if a bad thing happened to a good person it would be bad, ect.
