Hi, veins function as a blood reservoir as they carry the blood, this giving them the name (reservoir)
Veins, liver and spleen
true
to carry blood to and from the kidneys.
To feed Oxygenated blood to the heart
The veins are generally considered blood reservoirs. This is due to their ability to hold a lot of volume at a relatively low pressure (due to their thin walls compared to arteries). They generally hold 50-80% of the entire blood volume of the body.
Most of the volume of blood in the circulatory system is located in the veins and venules. These blood vessels act as reservoirs, holding the majority of the body's blood volume and allowing for regulation of blood pressure and distribution of blood to tissues.
valves prevent backflow of blood
Deoxygenated With the exception of the pulmonary vessels, veins carry deoxygenated blood; arteries carry oxygenated blood.
Veins have strong celular walls & also contain valves. The valves stop blood from pooling backwards as the heart pumps blood around. Its important to remember that blood in the veins is under low pressure & are returning blood back towards the heart & are de oxygenated.Arteries are larger & the blood in them is under very high pressure & is highly oxygenated. Blood from veins is much darker as it has less oxygen being carried.Arterial blood is much lighter red colour as it is highly oxygenated.
Artery, arterioles, veins, veniouls and cappilierys
They pump blood trough our body
The main kind of blood vessels are Veins,Arteries, and Capillaries. Arteries carry oxygenated blood to other organs. Veins carry blood with carbon dioxide back to the heart. Capillaries connect Veins and Arteries and let oxygen out to the organs and carbon dioxide in to the veins.
