I kept the incision very clean and covered for five (5) days while on Keflex

and Bactrim

antibiotics. After day five the pain was gone and the packing was very easy to remove. I took it out and flushed the incision with peroxide solution and covered it back up with sterile gauze pads. It should take at least 5 days for the incision to start to close up on its own.
