Nutrients leave the gut and enter the bloodstream through the lining of the small intestine.
The nutrients absorb
Before nutrients leave the small intestine, they are absorbed through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream. This is where they are transported to the liver and then to various cells in the body to be used for energy, growth, and repair. Any remaining waste products will move on to the large intestine for further processing.

Arteries always carry blood away from the heart. Veins always carry blood back to the heart. Not all arteries carry high O2 blood. Not all veins carry low O2 blood.

Probably what happens in every other part of the body, due to osmosis and dispersion, the oxogen goes out of the blood and nourishes the cells. Meanwhile the Carbon dioxide attaches to the hemoglobin and is carried back to the lung to be exhaled.
In the small intestine , on the lining (along the intestinal wall) , there are numerous finger-like projections called villi which in urn have many microvilli. These structures give a brush-like appearance for the entire villi and increases the surface area for absorption. These villi absorb all the necessary nutrients and transfer them into the blood stream and leave only the unwanted waste products.
Food typically takes about 4-6 hours to leave a dog's stomach and enter the small intestine for further digestion and absorption of nutrients.
It is returned back to the heart to be sent throughout the body to deliver nutrients such as oxygen.
From the stomach, fluids travel to the small and large intestine. The main water absorption happens in the large intestine, where the water is absorbed into the blood. This creates a higher blood pressure. However, this blood goes travels through the kidneys, which senses there is higher blood pressure, and in turn, takes the water from the blood into the kidney. These fluid will then leave the body as a component of urine.
