I wouldn't think that you would have to take out your retainer for gym but I'm not so sure because I'm just getting my braces on in two weeks....I think that's a question that you may have to confront your ortho with!
You'd probably break the retainer, another pair would be best.
If you don't wear your retainer, then your teeth will stick out and you have to wear braces again.
Your teeth move, i wear a retainer and if i dont wear it every night my teeth will move, You will GET SPACES. wear your retainer everyday and night to have the best result.
well at first i just feels like you have temporay braces but if you dont wear it when your told to when you finally put it back in it hurts SO badly so just wear it on time when they say to and it should not bother you much
You should not be wearing a retainer with a broken wire. It should be taken back to your Dentist to hare it properly repaired and adjusted. For more information about denture concerns and denture repair visit: www.westpenndentalcenter.com
wear it all the time
Like your mouth is full, it doesn't hurt unless you don't wear it. Sometimes it is hard to eat with it in but I do it anyways.
If you don't wear your retainer, your teeth won't start to shift until about a week from when you stopped wearing it.
he wore invisalign (a clear retainer like brace), i think when he was 16-17 :)
The type of retainer that you got should work just fine. What it sounds like to me is that you got two different pieces of jewelry of two different sizes, the clear retainer being probably just a gauge smaller than the nose screw that you would normally wear in it. The best thing for you to do in this instance is to go to shop that you got the piercing done at, let the piercer determine the gauge, and they will then get you an appropriate screw of that same size. Once your nostril has chilled out and healed, you should be able to get the original piece back in there.
Your teeth are always shifting slightly, so as long as you would like them to stay how they are after braces, you need to wear your retainer forever. Not 24/7, but at least once a week or at night should keep them in place.
It depends of what your orthodontist or dentist recommend. But most of the times, you have a retainer to wear for a few years, and a retaining wire behind your front teeth (upper and/or lower) that you most likely to wear all your life.
