First, I think that we should rewrite this quote with better punctuations to make it easier to understand: "Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear." (Mark Twain) I think that "Courage is resistance to fear" means that it is sort of an antagonist to fear. That's pretty straight forward... Then, "mastery of fear - not absence of fear" probably means that someone with courage will still have fear; it doesn't mean that he won't have or feel any fear, however he will use his courage to "master", control, and/or manage the fear and get passed it.
"Courage is not the absence of fear but rather the judgment that something is more important than fear" -Mia's dad
This quote suggests that true courage comes from acknowledging fear but choosing to act bravely despite it. It implies that facing one's fears and still pushing forward is the most honorable and genuine display of valor.
courage is not the exemption of fear, it is the ability to conqure that fear
i believe i heard it on The Black Knight with Martin Lawrence. and it goes, "Courage is not the absence of fear. It is the presence of fear, yet the will to go on."
"Out, damned spot!" from Shakespeare's "Macbeth" alludes to the fear and guilt that Lady Macbeth experiences. "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it." - Nelson Mandela's quote alludes to the idea that fear can be overcome through bravery and determination.
The opposite of experiencing fear is fearlessness, courage, or bravery. The absence of fear would be calmness or being unworried, unconcerned, or nonplussed.

One of the most inspiring quotes by Ben Gurion is "In Israel, in order to be a realist you must believe in miracles." This quote reflects his belief in the power of determination and perseverance in the face of challenges. Another impactful quote is "Courage is a special kind of knowledge: the knowledge of how to fear what ought to be feared and how not to fear what ought not to be feared." This quote highlights Ben Gurion's emphasis on courage and wisdom in leadership.
