I know this because my brother had it a few months back. It's common for children, and usually shows with a rash or even a resistance to eat. If the person won't eat it's because their glands get messed up and they usually have a sore throat. You should definitely see a doctor if you think someone you know has it. It's not contagious, but it IS viral. Usually the doc will give you some antibiotics and painkillers, and near the end you get a 'strawberry tongue'. The Tongue goes quite red and has yellow or White spots on it. It can sometimes lead to tonsilitis, which happened to my now three year old brother. He had his tonsils removed and we have noticed such a change in his behaviour and everything. Even his speech is better. I hope this helped, Alice (aged 12)

It is fairly common to have typhoid bacteria in your stool for one or two weeks after you get the typhoid fever. Most chronic carriers have got the typhoid bacteria in their gall bladder. They pass them via stool, periodically.
