I have been informed by my psychiatrist who teats me for having a Generalized Anxiety Disorder, that humor isn't necessarily a form of escaping fear, but rather finding a way to cope with it or manage it. So, there is probably no psychological term for this defense mechanism. But, there is an acknowledgement of it when studying psychological abnormalities associated with fear or stress such as stress disorders and anxiety disorders of the like.
