Which is true if you took a pregnancy test that gave you a very faint positive but a second test gave you a negative result?

The negative result is the one most likely to be true but you can just wait it out and see what happens or you can go to a gynecologist and tell them u want a pregnancy test. If you took the first test with your first pee of the day, then your second one later in the day the first one may be correct. first pee of the day is more concentrated therefore more hormone in it than later in the day. Leave it a week and if you don't have a period, then do another test with the first pee of the day as instructed on the pack.

Pregnancy tests measure your HcG hormones. As your pregnancy progresses it produces more and more in the beginning of your pregnancy. Therefore, one test could read negative when another test taken just days later could be positive. Naturally if you took the dr.'s test first than that could be the case. However, by the way you worded the question I am assuming you took the dr's test first. So here goes. It seems strange to me for someone to get a false positive... I thought they are rare. But I guess it depends on a few things. You could be REALLY early and perhaps the doctor's test was "watered down". They say if you drink too much liquid it dillutes your urine. Also the first morning urine is best so perhaps the one at the Dr's office wasn't and the one at home was!? Also, and I hate to say this to you, but I know all about wishful thinking. I had my daughter in 2002 and we have been trying ever since to have another baby. Since she was 6 months old we have had NO luck. We want it so badly. My Aunt Flo is VERY IRREGULAR sometimes it doesn't come for months and sometimes it comes and stays and I bleed for 2 months or more at a time. Anyhow, at least three or four times now I have thought I had a VERY, VERY faint positive line. And my best friend even thought she seen it too once. But it turns out it was nothing. Sometimes wishful thinking can really interfere with reading the tests right. Not saying you didn't see what you saw or anything but I know for me a mere hint of the possibiliity of a line is looking better and better to me. So all in all I WOULD wait another week or even 2 and take another test with your first moringn's urine and see what happens.
